New Music: LPZ – 1983

Brand new label Body Work Music  have been some surprisingly good music considering they have only been going for a matter of months.

The latest release from Body Work Music does nothing to tarnish that record of releasing great tunes, in fact with the release of 1983 by LPZ, Body Work have burnished their reputation.

This Panamanian trio had been making a little bit of a stir with a few remixes but with this first release under the LPZ moniker they’re stirring shit up like a chef on meth-amphetamine. The EP has a Disco-House vibe to it with the titular track 1983 being the most dance-floor friendly of the three tracks. On Mafia things go a bit deeper into the house side of things and I’m not talking about the basement. Although this track would be perfect for a late night sweat session in a basement. The EP is rounded out by Snake and Butterfish which the lovely folks at Body Work Music are letting you download for free so you make up your mind.

It’s always nice to hear such an accomplished EP from a new label. With the release of 1983, LPZ and Body Work Music have set themselves up as ones to watch in 2012.
